March 18-24 is Poison Prevention Week
This March marks the 50th Anniversary of National Poison Prevention Week. Find activities and resources to promote poison prevention among your co-workers and family members.

More than 2 million poisonings are reported each year to the 57 poison control centers across the country. More than 90 percent of these poisonings occur in the home. The majority of non-fatal poisonings occur in children younger than six years old. And, poisonings are one of the leading causes of death among adults.

HPD March on Crime 2012
Houston police arrested eight suspects responsible for a series of home burglaries in the city thanks to, in some cases, the aid of residents who used some simple video technology. In one case, citizens helped catch a suspect entering through dog doors within residential back doors.
